Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
I am a board-certified clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience helping people navigate life’s challenges. My journey began with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Minnesota State University, where I gained early experience in research and clinical work with high-risk populations, ADHD evaluations, and geriatric care. I later earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University, where I trained in diverse settings including community mental health, the Veteran's Administration (VA), and a state prison. My clinical training continued with the U.S. Air Force, where I completed an internship at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a postdoctoral residency at Whiteman Air Force Base. I have served almost 10 years as an active-duty clinical psychologist in the U.S. Air Force, where I have gained extensive experience supporting service members and their families.
Over the years, I’ve developed specialized expertise in health psychology, perinatal and postpartum mental health, traumatic brain injury, trauma-focused therapies (including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing "EMDR", Cognitive Processing Therapy "CPT", and Prolonged Exposure "PE"), and chronic illness and pain. I also work extensively with depression, anxiety, grief, ADHD, sleep difficulties, personality disorders, addiction, anger management, and stress-related concerns. My experience includes working closely with service members, veterans, healthcare workers, and first responders.
I work with individuals (ages 16+) as well as couples, drawing from the Gottman method and other evidence-based approaches. My style is integrative and holistic: I believe healing is most effective when we address the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual/meaningful dimensions of health, while honoring each person’s unique culture and identity.
Life is full of peaks and valleys. My role is to walk alongside you on your journey, offering support, perspective, and tools to help you move forward. Whether you are facing a specific struggle or simply seeking to strengthen your wellbeing, I would be honored to join you on your path.
What sets me apart as a psychologist is the combination of my wide range of experience, my compassionate yet direct style, and my ability to genuinely connect with those I serve. Research consistently shows that a strong connection with your provider is one of the most important factors in improving mental health. My goal is to build that connection with you—creating a safe, supportive space where you feel both understood and challenged in ways that help you grow. It would be my honor to walk alongside you and be part of your healthcare team.
My services are self-pay, which means I do not bill insurance directly. I do accept HSA/FSA. I can also provide documentation that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Choosing self-pay care allows us to focus entirely on your needs, without the limitations often imposed by insurance. I view therapy as an investment in your health—much like building savings for the future. By nurturing your mental and emotional wellbeing now, you strengthen the reserves you’ll need to navigate life’s challenges and continue to grow, heal, and thrive. Currently, I am licensed to accept clients who reside in South Dakota via telehealth. I am also able to see clients from Nebraska via telehealth or in-person in my office in La Vista, NE.
